The total tally of US military fatalities in Iraq is at least 4,296, as of Friday, according to Associated Press records.

The number of Iraqi wounded has not been officially announced, but is likely to exceed 100,000, as the improved medical evacuation and emergency treatments has increased the survival ratio of the war wounded.

Nevertheless, although most of the casualties survive, many of them are likely to suffer from serious life-long physical and/or mental disabilities, as underlined by the sky-rocketing of suicides among the Iraq war veterans.

The US led the 2003 invasion and ensuing occupation of the country with the pretext of removing weapons of mass destruction from that country. None were found.

The US does not announce figures of Iraqi civilian deaths, but the Iraq Body Count project, which has been keeping a tally of the casualties, reports that, as of Friday, between 91,926 and 100,351 Iraqi civilians have died due to violence since the start of "Operation Iraqi Freedom."
